Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Workpaper.

These terms are an agreement between you and Workpaper's developer, an individual based in India who runs Workpaper ("Workpaper", "we", "us"). By using workpaper.co, the Workpaper CLI or any computer you start with it, you agree to them. If you use Workpaper for an organisation, you agree on its behalf.

1. What Workpaper is

Workpaper rents out small Linux computers ("computers") that you start, use and stop with a command-line tool. Workpaper is new and runs on a small amount of hardware. It may be unavailable at times, capacity may run out, and features may change. There is no guaranteed uptime.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. You may not use Workpaper if you're barred from doing so by the law of the country you're in.

3. Your account

4. Your content

Everything you put on a computer is yours. You give us permission to store, copy and run it only as needed to provide Workpaper to you. We don't look at what's on your computers, except when it's needed to keep the service running, to investigate abuse or a security problem, or when the law requires it.

We don't back up your computers. If our hardware fails, data can be lost. Keep copies of anything that matters.

5. Acceptable use

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. If you don't, we may stop or suspend your computers and account, in serious cases without warning.

6. Prices and payment

7. Ending things

You can stop using Workpaper at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, don't pay, or if the law requires it. When an account is closed, its computers and data are deleted within 30 days.

If we ever shut Workpaper down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email so you can copy your data out, and refund any unused prepaid credit.

8. Software from others

Computers include open-source software, such as Debian Linux and the Lightpanda browser, under their own licences. Those licences apply to that software.

9. No warranty

Workpaper is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

10. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under Indian law.

11. Your responsibility

If someone makes a claim against us because of what you did on Workpaper in breach of these terms or the law, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we'll email you at least 15 days before they take effect. If you keep using Workpaper after that, the new terms apply.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to us at [email protected]; most problems are easier to fix by talking.

14. Contact

[email protected]. See also Contact and grievances.
